Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using ClipTips, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. ClipTips is operated under Streamables.live Holdings. Last updated: May 2026.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ClipTips. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate. Creators must additionally comply with any professional licensing requirements in their jurisdiction that apply to the knowledge or advice they provide. ClipTips verifies credentials but does not provide legal, medical, or financial advice — and neither do creators on this platform unless they are qualified to do so.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. ClipTips is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorised access due to your failure to keep credentials secure. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or cause harm to other users.

4. Payments, CLIP tokens and Teaching Credits

CLIP tokens are purchased at a rate of 1000 CLIP = $10 USD (or equivalent at the current exchange rate). Tokens are non-refundable once spent in a session. Unused CLIP tokens never expire. In the event ClipTips shuts down, we will provide reasonable notice and a mechanism to withdraw the USD equivalent of unused tokens. All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Users earning on the platform choose one of two tiers at first visit to the Wallet: Pro Expert mode: earnings are denominated in CLIP tokens at the rate above. Pro users may withdraw earnings to a connected Stripe account after completing Stripe Connect onboarding. Pro earnings are treated as consulting income and the user is responsible for any applicable income tax, self-employment tax, and reporting obligations in their jurisdiction. Scholar Expert mode: earnings are denominated in Teaching Credits. Teaching Credits are non-convertible — they cannot be withdrawn to a bank account, traded to other users for cash, or otherwise converted to fiat currency. Teaching Credits may be spent only within the ClipTips platform on sessions with other creators. Scholar earnings are capped at 10,000 credits (USD-equivalent $100) per rolling 365-day period to keep scholar activity within the scope most institutional outside-activity policies treat as academic service rather than paid consulting. Scholar Expert mode does not exempt users from disclosure obligations their employer or institution may require, and ClipTips does not provide legal advice on compliance with those obligations. Scholar users may upgrade to Pro Expert mode at any time by completing the upgrade flow, which requires explicit attestation that the user is not subject to outside-activity restrictions (or has obtained necessary approvals). Upon upgrade, the user's scholar-era Teaching Credit balance is permanently locked and remains non-convertible; only new earnings after the upgrade timestamp are withdrawable. Pro users cannot downgrade to Scholar. Tax treatment of barter transactions varies by jurisdiction. In many jurisdictions (including the US, UK, EU, and Australia) the fair market value of bartered services is taxable income at the time services are rendered, regardless of whether the earner ever converts the credits to fiat. Users are responsible for complying with their own tax obligations.

5. Session conduct

During live sessions, you agree not to: • Share, solicit, or display illegal content • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users • Record or redistribute sessions without explicit consent from all parties • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your credentials Sessions are monitored for policy compliance. Violations may result in immediate session termination and account suspension without refund. ClipTips reserves the right to review flagged session content. AI-generated session dubs are automatically published to the Knowledge Nexus unless you opt out before the session. Live interpreter sessions: When a booking crosses languages (you and the other participant don't share a spoken language), live interpreter mode auto-engages and a transparent premium is added to the session cost. Your microphone audio is streamed to a third-party transcription service (Deepgram), the resulting text is translated by a third-party translation service (DeepL, OpenAI, or OpenRouter), and the translated text is converted back to audio in your cloned voice by a third-party speech synthesis service (ElevenLabs). The other participant hears the cloned-voice translation; you hear theirs. Audio data is streamed in real time and is not retained by these providers beyond the session unless their own data handling terms state otherwise. Same-language bookings stay on standard video with no AI processing of your audio. If you book a same-language session and later choose to upgrade mid-call via the in-session "Switch to translated" button, a prorated fee for the remaining time is charged and the same providers are engaged from that point. See the Privacy Policy for the full list of providers and data flows.

6. Expert verification and obligations

Experts who apply for verified status submit credentials for manual review. Approval does not constitute endorsement by ClipTips of the quality of the creator's advice. Creators are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of information they provide in sessions. Credentials submitted must be genuine — submitting false documents is grounds for permanent account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities. By accepting a session, creators agree to appear on time, conduct the session professionally, and deliver the expertise they have advertised.

7. Intellectual property

Session content (audio, video, transcripts, and AI-dubbed versions) is owned jointly by the creator and ClipTips. By conducting a session, creators grant ClipTips a perpetual, royalty-free licence to publish, translate, and distribute that content via the Knowledge Nexus. Learners who participate in sessions do not acquire rights to session content beyond personal viewing. The ClipTips platform, brand, and codebase are the property of Streamables.live Holdings. You may not reproduce, resell, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.

8. Disclaimers and liability

ClipTips is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free AI translations, or any specific outcome from sessions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipTips' liability for any claim arising from platform use is limited to the amount you paid for CLIP tokens in the 30 days preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of ClipTips after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
